What’s Happening at Harmony

Harmony Heights School is hiring!

We currently have an immediate opening for a full-time therapist to join our dedicated clinical team supporting adolescent girls navigating depression, anxiety, school refusal, trauma, and mood disorders within our small therapeutic school community.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or similar professional seeking meaningful work in a supportive, collaborative environment with supervision, training, and excellent working conditions provided.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and 3 letters of recommendation to Theresa Cherba, Director of HR, at Theresa.Cherba@harmonyheights.org.

Come help make a difference in the lives of our students every day.

Harmony Heights Welcomes Therapy Dog Willow

Welcome, Willow!

January 28th was a very special day at Harmony Heightsβ€”we officially welcomed Willow, our new therapy dog, on her first day at school!

Students and staff had the opportunity to meet Willow during a wonderful assembly led by her trainer, Caroline Waldman from Click for a Treat, where we learned about therapy dogs, how to care for them, and how they can support mental health and well-being.

We’re so grateful to our amazing P.E. teacher Wendy Tobin, who helped guide Willow through her training, and to our Clinical Service Supervisor Kathy Brammer, who will be Willow’s daily companion here at Harmony.

We’ll be sharing more soonβ€”including photos, video highlights, and an inside look at the powerful impact therapy dogs can have on students navigating anxiety, trauma, and school refusal.

For now, help us give Willow a warm Harmony welcome!

Harmony Heights Introduces Music Therapy Program

Harmony Height is thrilled to announce the official launch of our Music Therapy Program!

Led by Alex Timoshenko from The Music Academy for Special Learners, these weekly sessions offer our students the healing power of musicβ€”every Friday during Periods 6–8. Music therapy is a powerful tool for improving emotional expression, reducing anxiety, and boosting overall mental well-beingβ€”and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to Harmony Heights!

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the incredible team at Ramona’s Gift to Music, who have generously donated all of the instruments for this program. We are especially grateful to Co-founders John Mangione and Michael Cuellar for their kindness and continued support of our mission.

We’re delighted to see (and hear!) the joy, creativity, and healing that this program brings to our students. Let the music begin!

Now Enrolling for Summer & Fall 2026

Harmony Heights is currently accepting students for immediate placement in our Summer Program and Fall Semester. Our program is tuition-free and available to students throughout Long Island and the five boroughs who would benefit from a small, supportive therapeutic school environment.

Harmony Heights serves adolescent girls experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, school refusal, trauma, and mood disorders. With small class sizes, individualized instruction, therapeutic supports, counseling services, and a nurturing school community, we help students build confidence, develop coping skills, and achieve academic success.

Our Summer Program offers students the opportunity to maintain a structured routine while continuing to receive therapeutic support through engaging, hands-on classes such as Glow Lab, Life Skills, Tea Gardening, Culinary Bites, Marketing & Sales, Long Island Experience, Mythology & Folklore, Poetry Writing, Yoga & Flow, and more. Students will explore creativity, self-care, social-emotional growth, practical life skills, and real-world learning, all while having fun and staying connected.

Academics and Activities

Harmony Heights provides a New York State Regents diploma program in a therapeutic, small-class setting, ensuring each student receives personalized support. With classes of no more than 12 students, certified teachers and aides create a learning environment tailored to individual needs. Students work closely with their guidance counselor to build their schedules, receive transitional counseling for college and career planning, and have access to a variety of enriching activities.
