English Language Arts/Special Education Teacher
Harmony Heights is accepting applications for an immediate opening for an English Language Arts/Special Education teacher. Harmony Heights high school is located in East Norwich on the North Shore of Long Island. We are a NYS-approved special education school for girls in grades 8 through 12. Harmony Heights provides a safe positive and nurturing learning environment for girls whose needs cannot be met by their home districts. This is a 10-month position with a six-week summer program. Prospective applicants must demonstrate the ability to provide both content-based and conceptual English lessons for the English Language Arts curriculum, including higher level essay writing and study skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the students to take the English Language Arts Regents exam. We offer a Regents program aligned with NYS standards and the Common Core.
The candidate must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent working conditions and supportive coworkers.
